Safety Clean-up
During this CS Week, we are also providing resources for people to dispose of unwanted items and waste. Collection points for different categories of waste will be distributed throughout the 50 complex and building 59.
Salvage Bins: Miscellaneous items that you no longer need that can be repurposed. Do not put general trash items such as food wrappers and packaging in the salvage bins. Dispose of these items as you normally would in the landfill and recycling bins around the building.Â
E-Waste Bins: Broken or worn out non-DOE tagged electronics such as mice, keyboards, monitors, and cables.
If you have any DOE-tagged property that you want to retire (i.e., cell phones, tablets, computers), contact cshelp@lbl.gov or Parisa Farvid.
Dispose of batteries in the green battery buckets found in the copy rooms/stations.
If you come across any bulging lithium ion batteries: please reach out to CSIT, Aaron Garrett (NERSC only), or Sarah McGinn for assistance.LBL Waste Guide: https://sbl.lbl.gov/wasteguide/
For large furniture or items that are too heavy to safely move into the salvage bins, please contact your admin for assistance submitting a Waste Requisition.
